Assistant Coach Juan Salazar enters his first season with Arizona Select as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Coach Salazar was born and raised in Compton, California, and attended Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Ca. As a student at Norwalk High, Coach Salazar was recognized as a National Scholar Athlete, graduating with High Honors as one of the top 20 students in a graduating class of over 600+ students. After graduation, Coach Salazar then attended the University of Redlands on scholarship, playing on the Bulldogs Baseball team while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Marketing with an emphasis in graphic design, photography, and marketing.

While the University of Redlands, Coach Salazar earned honors as a student athlete for maintaining a GPA of over 3.5 throughout his playing tenure. A proud member of the Gamma Delta Rho Fraternity, he also participated in the Summer Bridge Program, the National Honors Society, worked as a student assistant for various athletic programs as an event coordinator and as part of the various university team’s media department. Coach Salazar completed his Degree prom and graduated from the University of Redlands in April of 2022.

Beyond campus, Juan had has several opportunities to work with music artists, other collegiate athletes, and pro athletes in various marketing projects from which has led to his work being featured in marketing campaigns for Under Armour, Franklin Sports, among other big corporation social media accounts.

Coach Salazar is excited for the opportunity to join the Arizona Elite Sports Group team as an assistant coach and also have the ability to learn from the senior coaching staff and mentor the next generation of youth players. Coach Salazar will be continuing his education at Benedictine University in Mesa, Az., pursuing his Masters Degree in Marketing and also hopes to continue pursuing his marketing career and goal of working for a professional sports organization.
