Coach Nestor Rojas enters his first season with the Arizona Select Program. Coach Rojas played seven years in the San Francisco Giants organization as a Catcher, and after retiring from the major leagues in 2010, Rojas immediately began his coaching career in the San Francisco Giants system. As a bright up and coming coaching talent, Rojas landed his first Managerial job at the age of 29 with the Arizona Rookie League Giants in 2013. In his first year as a manager, Rojas directed the AZL Giants to an incredible 41–14 record (.745 winning percentage) and the Arizona Rookie League championship. Prospects (and future San Jose standouts) Christian Arroyo, Ryder Jones and Jonah Arenado each began their professional careers as teenagers under Rojas during that 2013 season.

Coach Rojas, a Native of Cabimas, Venezuela, has also had the distinct coaching honor of coaching the Venezuela National team in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, adding to his already impressive coaching resume. Rojas, became the 17th manager in the 30-year history of the San Jose Giants. and only the second former San Jose Giants player to return as manager (Steve Decker)

Coach Rojas will be leading our US Elite Underclass team, with high school players from the classes of 2025 and 2026 AND he will also be Managing one of our Collegiate Teams withing the Arizona Collegiate Wood Bat League, for the summer of 2022.
